Vous voulez connaître mon astuce pour faire tenir debout mes tags? Je me suis servie de vieilles baguettes chinoises !!! J’en ai retrouvé un bon stock et franchement on ne mange pas tous les jours chinois à la maison… mes filles en mettent déjà assez partout comme ça LOL!! 😀 Chaque baguette rentrait parfaitement dans des petites bobines (de marque Rayher), j’ai juste dû scier un peu le haut qui dépassait. J’ai emprunté une petite scie à mon chéri, et hop, fastoche!!! 🙂
Wooden spools have been added to the bottom of my three tags to give some height and to add further interest to the design. Do you want to know my tip to allow the tags to stand up well? I used a set of chopsticks I had for ages!!! I put a chopstick into the hole of each spool, they really have the perfect dimension to fit in! I glued them with Glossy Accents. And I was having fun using a little saw from my hubby to cut each tip off so they can be adjusted to the length of the tags… 🙂 This step was done after glueing them all on greyboard and after I have painted all the back sides with black Gesso.
In détails…
Pour le fond de ce tag, il est fait au Gesso d’abord (en couche assez épaisse). J’ai tamponné des ronds dans le Gesso encore humide. Ensuite j’ai pshitté des encres Izink de couleur jaune, fondu un peu l’ensemble en essuyant les trop-pleins, puis je me suis servie de mon mask Papillons de chez Tando Creative sur lequel j’ai passé un peu de peinture marron… Et après j’ai joué avec mes tampons ! Je vous mets toutes les références et liens en anglais juste après, pour ne pas faire trop de répétition… elles sont faciles à retrouver je pense.
For this first tag, my background has been done using Gesso (applied in rather thick layer) and an old ‘grunge rounds’ stamp directly applied into the wet Gesso to create the texture. I have played with yellow Izink inks to colour it, and next with a Tando butterflies mask and brown paint using a sponge.
Then I have applied parts of the CI-406 ‘Medieval Manuscript’ directly over the top. I have also used the wonderful CI-408 ‘Wishes’, stamped on separate paper and distressed and coloured too before cutting it out and adhering to the tag in relief. The two little words ‘Cherish’ and ‘Imagine’ are from the useful set CI-256 ‘Handy Sentiments’. You may have seen that I use this stamps set more on the next tag, these two words were just leftovers…. Small butterflies also by CI (freebies). I finally added a ‘Victoria Corner’ die cut into scraps from Springtime – Book 3 paper book.

Here the background has been done using Distress and Izink inks. I have applyed the inks to my non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water and then mopped up the beads of ink with the tag. I have also splattered a few drops of white paint diluted with water over it, and applied again my Butterflies mask but in a different way than previous.
Next I have used the lovely stamps CI-391 ‘Teatime Delights’, CI-253 ‘Tiny Florals Background’, CI-389 ‘Tea at Three’, CI-406 (inside the stencilled butterflies).
Pour le 2ème tag, j’ai choisi un fond “essuyé” aux encres Izink, avec un peu d’eau… J’ai aussi ajouté quelques gouttes de peinture blanche diluée à l’eau. J’ai joué ensuite avec mon mask papillons mais d’une manière différente, et ensuite place aux tamponnades… Je cite au dessus les tampons que vous retrouvez sur ce tag, si l’un en particulier vous fait de l’oeil!

They are all beautiful, Coco! I love the stencilled butterflies – they look amazing, and the one with the bird on the teacups – both so full of glowing sunshine. And the green one is wonderful with those contrasting flowers. But best of all are those wonderful feet – what an inspired idea! And so clever with the chopsticks… A real treat of a trio!
