Coucou! Hi everyone!
A little post from me today (this is a planned post since I’m on holidays, hope everything goes well!..) to share with you a mixed media board I had a blast making! I used the new Grumpy Pinguins that are simply the best and funniest I have ever seen haha!!!
This project is also on Katzelkraft’s DT blog. It illustrates the challenge proposed by my team-mate Amanda this month on the theme ‘ALL BUT A CARD’; I chose to create a mixed-media panel using painted and stencilled cardboard as a frame for my funny layered pinguins, instead of a simple card.
Je vous offre un post programmé aujourd’hui, je fais un petit saut sur mon blog pour vous montrer une réa que j’ai adoré faire avec l’un des tout derniers tampons Katzelkraft: Les Pingouins Grumpy. Ils sont tellement drôles que j’ai eu énormément de plaisir à les mettre en vedette sur un petit panneau mixed-media. Cette réa, je l’ai faite à la base pour illustrer le challenge en cours proposé par ma co-équipière Amanda sur le thème: Tout sauf une carte (retrouvez les conditions de participation ICI) mais en vérité je la trouve irrésistible (enfin c’est surtout ces pingouins qui sont irrésistibles LOL!!…), du coup elle trône encore sur mon buffet, et pour encore longtemps je pense !!!!!

Elle participe aussi au challenge spécial sur le blog de Sandee & Amelie: Tic Tac Toe. J’ai choisi la première ligne verticale (Words/Stencil/Sea).
A propos de ce challenge, je remercie vivement Claudia car j’ai suivi l’un de ses tutos pour peindre mon cadre baroque dans son style assez génial et qui met bien en valeur les produits Decoart (elle fait partie de la DT). J’en ai d’ailleurs profité pour utiliser les peintures que j’avais gagnées en participant à un blog hop organisé par cette même marque. Sa réa m’avait tapé dans l’oeil.. J’adore l’effet obtenu ici et les couleurs sont absolument magnifiques, je compte bien m’en resservir très vite!!! Je vous encourage à voir la réa de Claudia avec son tutorial ICI, il est anglais mais il y a beaucoup de photos… Et même si vous n’avez pas toutes ces peintures, on peut toujours adapter.
I played with masking fluid and a fine brush to create the white circles on my central pannel, sand texture over a Dylusions stencil to frame my cardboard, Dylusions inks, a Naturally Aged Paint System I had for ages but never used yet to create the shades of blue and grey in the background (it was a really fun step oooh!!!), and no less than 4 Katzelkraft stamp sets I love among them some new ones, the droplets and the pinguins.
C’est un petit tableau monté sur carton de 3mm d’épaisseur. J’ai trouvé ce carton dans la boutique du Cactus Bavard dont je vous ai parlé récemment, je l’ai trouvé très agréable à travailler et il absorbe bien les matières et mediums en tout genre. Au final ça rend très bien je suis contente, j’aime assez le travail sur carton, et c’est plus pratique à stocker que des canvas!
J’ai fait plusieurs photos en gros-plan pour vous permettre de mieux voir les détails… J’ai utilisé pas moins de 4 ensembles de tampons Katzelkraft sur cette scène, parmi lesquelles deux nouveautés de Katzele, ces pingouins délirants qui déchireeeeeeent il faut quand même le dire LOL, et les nouvelles gouttes !!! Un vrai régal tous ces tampons.
Côté matériel, j’ai utilisé du Drawing-gum et un pinceau fin pour faire les cercles blancs que vous voyez apparaitre sur le fond de mon panneau central, des encres Dylusions, des poudres mica, et des peintures Decoart pour peindre le petit cadre baroque en bois (Crafty Individuals). J’ai utilisé la technique du masquage (via des post-it) pour créer mon groupe de pingouins.. Ceux du devant sont tamponnés à l’Archival Black Soot, et ceux de derrière à l’Archival Watering Can (de couleur gris pale). J’aurais pu obtenir un effet un peu similaire en retamponnant mes pingouins après une 1ère ou seconde impression en noir sans rajouter d’encre entre-deux.
Et sur le fond, j’ai fait mumuse avec un système de 4 encres et glaze dans les tons bleu et gris que j’avais depuis des lustres mais jamais ouvert encore… ça s’appelle Naturally Aged Paint System, ce n’est pas très récent mais c’est carrément chouette!!! J’ai aussi appliqué de la pate de texture à effet sablée sur un pochoir Dylusions pour faire mon encadrement.

There’s a special summer challenge at Sandee & Amelie’s Steampunk blog, you have plenty of time to join in as it lasts until the end of august, and the theme is Tic-Tac-Toe. Since I won a price of 25$ to spend in Inspiration Emporium (randomly, but happy dance anyway here!!!) at the last challenge, I decided to have a play this time again in order to thank the lovely organizors (moreover the team is uber-talented! :). My make is not really a steampunk one, but it follows the requirements of the first vertical line “Words/Writing, Stencils, The deep Sea”, so it may be acceptable.
As I really love the ocean theme I decided to make this a Katzelkraft DT project at the same time on this theme.
I want to say a big thank you to Claudia for her great tutorial that you can find HERE, I’ve really had a wonderful time to age my lovely little baroque frame following her fab technique using my DecoArt paints!
