Pour aujourd’hui ce sera un post avec 2 réas Stampotique qui participent à divers challenges, alors je me dépêche un peu… Le temps joue d’autant plus contre moi que je me suis cassé un doigt ce qui me gêne pour écrire, j’ai passé ma journée à faire des radios et des analyses, et demain matin je dois revoir un spécialiste pour décider s’il me fait porter une attelle pendant 6 semaines ou si on m’opère oups!!! Je ferai ce que je peux pour continuer à vous suivre sur vos blogs, mais certainement au ralenti pendant quelques semaines encore désolée. Pour le moment, je vais tenter de raccourcir mes double-posts anglais-français, et là comme ce sont des challenges anglosaxons je vais basculer vers l’anglais pour les détails techniques, d’avance excusez-moi (c’est mon abonnée Corinne alias Scrapandlys qui va encore râler Lol, mais bon… pas le choix!).
Hi everyone, I have a Stampotique post for you today. A long post for me to write because I have a broken finger.. 🙁 So it will be mainly in English only for once, to make things easier for me!
This week’s Stampotique designer’s challenge is hosted by Kaz. She asks us to take out one of our older stamps that we did not use for a while and give it a new lease of life. A great idea to use more our loved stamps remaining sadly unused in our stash..^^
With Marci, Carrot and Acro-Cat are my very first Stampotique stamps, and I still love them!
So using a Trees mask by Crafter’s Workshop (a not recent one but I still love it too!) and Gesso, I first created a little scene of forest or undergrowth on a square of watercolour paper. I then played with Distress inks and ultrafine brown pens to build slowly my background. I then chose my two central characters. ‘Carrot’ was featured to be the main character, so it was stamped on a scrap of watercolour paper in black Archival, coloured with distress pads using my favorite detailer water brush, and next fussy cut out and clear embossed, ready to go. 🙂
However because of the irregular texture of my little panel, I chose to stamp its fellow ‘Acro-Cat’ on tissue paper first rather than directly into place. I coloured it with a few watercolour Derwent inktense pencils over the top, added white paint at the back, then carefully torn by hand all unneeded surrounding paper thanks to the help of a fine wet brush. You have to pass it closely to the stamped image… but not on the lines be careful!
I used Matte Multi-medium gel to glue it near Carrot, I put my medium gel both at back and top of it. A coat of Multi-medium was finally applied onto the whole background to seal it and Carrot glued with strong glue.
I matted the square on natural corrugated cardstock and also brown paper, and at the end I chose to affix my panel over a double kraft card.
As the new September ‘Take it, Make it’ challenge from Craft Stamper Magazine is all about stamping on tissue paper, I also enter my card in this challenge too thanks to my little ‘acro-cat’ in tissue paper. I love this magazine as you know, also this stamping technique (that’s the one I chose to show off in my own article in october’s issue!), so what’s the best way to thank them again than entering their challenge!! 😀

Next finally, Coby has started her two-weekly Stampotique Challenge again over at the Craftorij FB page. ‘Indian Summer’ colours is the theme she chose. I made a card mounted on a painted thick cardboard to enter her challenge, I love my make, thank you Coby!
La carte suivante montée sur carton gris épais que j’ai peint dans les mêmes teintes a été réalisée après avoir vu pendant mes vacances une super vidéo sur youtube d’Andy Skinner, pour faire des fonds un peu ‘usés’ laissant apparaitre les couleurs du dessous… Si vous aimez, vous trouverez cette vidéo ici. J’ai utilisé des peintures PaperArtsy et DecoArt, j’ai adoré cette technique!!
My background was made after I saw during holidays a great video on distressed wall backgrounds using acrylic paints from Andy Skinner, you can see it here. It was amazing!! I wanted to give a try to his technique as soon as possible, and that was the good time thinking to indian colours… also the perfect occasion to play for the first time with my Decoart paints being ‘Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide’, ‘Prussian Blue Hue’ and ‘Quinacridone Gold’! These paints are fabulous, here they mix beautifully with my usual PA Fresco Finish paints. I also added Stampendous frantage mica flakes for a realistic and cool texture on the ground.
I used Roc Nicholas Stampotique stamp ‘Bunny’, and a new wonderful Tando Creative mask designed by Giovanna Zara, ‘Eighties’, to draw the bridge and the ground in the street. I had an absolute blast doing this, this third mask I have from Gio is fabulously versatile and really great!!! You can see it below with all the other masks lovely Gio has designed 🙂
J’ai utilisé le tampon Stampotique ‘Bunny’ par Roc Nicholas, et un nouveau mask Tando fait par ma copine de DT Gio, qui s’appelle ‘Eighties’, c’est le 3ème de ses masks que j’ai en ma possession, et celui-ci est carrément génial, il a plusieurs motifs intégrés et on peut en faire plein de choses!!!
Je vous remontre les masks faits par Gio, je crois qu’elle démarre en Free-lance donc un peu de pub ça ne peut pas faire de mal 🙂

They’re both delightful! I love the texture on the birch trees of the first one and Carrot is so beautifully watercoloured. Love the bold bright colours of the second one, and the ground is fabulously grungy!

Waouhhhh, j’adooore !!! Merci de tous tes comms qui me font chaud au coeur !! Juste mon iphone comme contact, ma Tablette se connectant 1 fois sur 3 ou 4 en Bluetooth, c’est dur de communiquer ainsi !! Bisoussssss de Rochefort campagne avec poules/ champs, notre gite est en pleine cambrousse et on adooore surtout qu’on est aussi assez près de la mer et qu’on est déjà allés voir 3 iles….. Bisoussss encore un coup !!

These are both fabulous. I love stamping on tissue paper too. Great tip to use some water and a brush to trim closer to the image. Beautiful backgrounds on these!
