I show you today a set of cards and tags I had lots of fun to do by playing mainly with two stamps, by varying the techniques and colours. Hope you will not find all these variations too boring oops!! But I was so pleased to find some time to join in the Vintage Stamping Challenge #30 – Olde Worlde hosted by my friend Christine/Craftyfield, and to play at last with one of the great stamps I won some time ago from Flonzcraft’s shopwhich is the sponsor of both VSC and FSC challenges that I like much too. Shirl is so kind and talented, and the DT creates always wonderful cards for the challenges which feast my eyes.

Here’s the theme: “Anything that looks old is basically what we are looking for so bring out all those olde vintage things you have been collecting and show us what you can make with them.”

The two stamps I chose are one lady silhouette from Art Nouveau silhouettes and the new ‘Splatter Script Baroque Background’ CI-430. I love both stamps, they are wonderful… hope you will agree after seeing my samples today haha 🙂
Well, I did my best to create the most vintage samples as I can as vintage is not the style in which I feel the most comfortable…

In this first card, the silhouette was first stamped onto tissu paper, and then glued using Matte medium gel on top of a Manila tag inked with Distress inks and a bit distressed. The tag was lightly stamped and heat embossed using the background stamp with a mix of butter and white EPs.

Only for this one I have an intermediate photo to share sorry, the rest of time I was too deeply concentrated on my process. I used Aged Green enamel powder to cover my stamped background using Versamark, after having painted in black and nougat, and then crushed, a Manila tag to make it really old. The lady was stamped in black Versafine on satin cream card, fussy cut-out, also embossed in Aged Rose and Green Enamel (at the bottom) for her clothed parts, and next glued.
The word ‘Explore’ is by Artistic Outpost.

I picked this tag up in the street!!.. The technique here is quite similar to the previous one, but I chose white embossing powder instead. My silhouette was colored further using an orange marker and after glueing it I also added some shades around it using a brown Distress marker.

Finally, here are two large double cards I had fun to create using old papers, very old bits and bobs from my stash (so happy to get rid of some of them! ^^) and stamping of course…

P3253484

On the first card my lady enjoys her travel to… Paris of course as I’m French!

P3253486

On this last card, the woman was first stamped on vellum and heat-embossed in black. I then roughly teared up the image and glued it on a painted tag (I used nougat and black paint on this one, I took an old piece of cut’n dry to stamp my background using black paint too, be careful to wash quickly your stamp after use in such case!).  I distressed my papers using inks and paints, the large heart you can see here if you are curious in its original version was aged for purpose (I used a bit of crackling white paste and black and red inks, also TG White Fire for the finishing touch). The red piece is a piece of recycled cardboard lying on my desk. On the top right side the pattern of background stamp was repeated and embossed with a mix of white, butter and clear gloss powders (more on the left darker part). Love the mix here, I don’t know if you can see it well on the pic but the result is beautiful.

I’d like als
o join in the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: One Stamp, many ways! with this set of cards and tags. I used two stamps rather than only one, but I think the whole set well suits the mind of the theme of the week!

Thanks so much Christine and Shirl, I’m so happy to have found the time to join in the fun at VSC this time AND using one of the Flonzcraft gorgeous stamps I was the lucky winner some time ago!!! I have to play with the others too now, they are really high-quality clear stamps and I love them. A great bonus is that I used some very old stash too!

Thanks to everyone for stopping by, wishing you a lovely day friends and followers. A warm welcome to my new followers Susan and Kathy and Sandra! Hugs

Coco xx

You have received dramatically different results on your projects using just two stamps! Changing the background totally changes the look of your tags and cards, yet all retain the vintage theme. I don’t think this was easy to do, but you beautifully succeeded! Way to go, Coco! Mwah!

Apologies for not managing to spend time with you but I have been very ill and still struggling but I wanted to try and spend a little bit of time on-line, maybe 10 minutes or so.
Hope you are having a lovely evening and Coco, it is wonderful to visit you this evening and to view your art.

Oh My Goodness Coco! This collection of cards and tags is anything but boring! These are wonderful! I Love how you’ve focused on using the single silhouette image in each different creation! So many outstanding techniques at play I can’t even say I have a favorite, because there’s so much about each one that I LOVE! But, I do love the last card, because I love the red & black color scheme Good luck at the challenges, Coco! These look like winners to me XOXO-Shari
